Lieutenant General Gwen Bingham

A native of Troy, Alabama, LTG Bingham is a retired three-star general who graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Alabama. She holds advanced degrees in Administration and National Security Strategy and Resources, and throughout her 38-year Army career, she served in key leadership roles across the globe—including in Honduras, Germany, Korea, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
LTG Bingham has made history as the first woman to serve in several high-ranking positions, including Quartermaster General of the U.S. Army, Commanding General of White Sands Missile Range, and Commanding General of the Tank-automotive and Armaments Life Cycle Management Command. She concluded her military service as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management at the Pentagon.
Currently, she serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Blue Star Families and is an Independent Director on the Board of Owens & Minor, where she also chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee. Her board experience spans both public and nonprofit sectors, underscoring her commitment to service and excellence in leadership.
Lieutenant General Bingham has been widely recognized for her contributions, including inductions into multiple Halls of Fame, being named a 2024 “Changemaker” by the Military Officers Association of America, a 2022 Distinguished Alumni by the University of Alabama, and a 2021 CNN “Champion for Change.”
She and her husband, Dr. Patrick J. Bingham, reside in Leander, Texas, and have two adult children.
